Making the Christmas cake usually involves a massive fight between me and my sister, then one of us secretly decorating the cake or ‘adding our own touch’ whilst the other isn’t looking. This year, truly a ‘Christmas miracle’, we managed to make it without an argument. My sister took care of actually making the cake and I was left to decorate.
I went for a reindeer design, using cookie cutters to cut out the shapes from royal icing. Perhaps I should’ve gone for thinner icing for the shape to make it look a bit neater?
I finished it off with a thick, grey, polka dot ribbon from IKEA.
I’m slightly disappointed with these photos because I wore a bright red top whilst taking them which reflected on the white surfaces, meaning I had to adjust the contrast of all my images – but enjoy anyway!
I hope you all have a lovely Christmas!
